I was thinking about the MMN just now after reading this thread. I have an interesting, if non-canonical, explanation for both the MMN and Malkavian Time. According to various sources, Malkav at one time was the wisest of the Antes and spent a lot of time searching for truths. One day he found one that was so profound it caused him to lose his sanity, and this madness is passed down to his childer. Okay, suppose what Malkav found was absolute knowledge of the future. No oracular hocus pocus or hazy predications. Somehow he came to know specific events and dates. He would have also known that this knowledge would doom him utterly. So, he did what needed to be done. Through some ritual, he inscribed the things that needed to be done and the dates when they would occur within his very blood. This knowledge would be passed down to each of his childer and would be revealed when necessary. To hide this dangerous knowledge, he laid down madness on top of it. So, each Malkavian is irredeemably insane to hide the knowledge her blood contains. --- Brian Merchant cheebie@home.com The Mighty Cheebie: loyal drone in the service of Da Queen Eater of Oreos, wearer of wing weaves, maker of pillows.
