Games!

Looking for a fun game, and all you've got is a basic deck of 52 cards? Here are some...interesting...games to try:

• Scum: the Masquerade: a game of political machinations, based on Scum (aka Capitalism, aka Asshole) and Vampire. Works best with 5 people.
  • Basic Rules: the Basic game.
  • Discipline Rules: how to bring disciplines into Scum.
  • Kindred Society Rules: how to bring in a little more taste of Kindred political machinations.
• Mafia is a very interesting mind game, but only works well in large groups (10 or more). You might also check out Werewolf, a slight variation on the rules.
• The Canonical List of Card Games is very large, but very slow. Here are rules for some of my more favored games, which are duplicated there.
  • Spades: an interesting game.
  • Hearts: a popular strategy game. Works best with 4 people.
  • Egyptian Ratscrew: a classic reaction game. Works best with 4 people or more.
  • BS: a personal favorite bluffing game. Works best with 5 people.
  • Mao is a highly complicated and highly addictive card game...

Other games...some require some specific equipment, while for some, simple pencil and paper will do.
